Creating A Dreamy Mood Board
Share
This week for the One Room Challenge, I focused on sourcing all the products from my daughter's big girl room mood board!
One of the key elements in my design is the Rocky Mountain Decals Wallpaper, which adds a dreamy and whimsical touch to the room. The "Dreaming in Pastels" design features soft colours and a playful floral pattern that my daughter loves. Teal is her new favourite colours so this will really give the room the splash it needs. I can't wait to see it up on the walls! If you would like to order from Rocky Mountain Decals, you can save 12% by using the code TIMBERWOOD at checkout.
We also wanted to incorporate natural materials to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Our maple wood shelves with leather straps not only add warmth to the space, but they also provide a functional storage solution. By combining these natural elements with other decor items, we will be able to create a cohesive look that is both stylish and comfortable.
After using a makeshift version of her converted crib with an old queen mattress, my daughter is finally getting a proper bed! We've upgraded to the Simba Sleep Mattress, which means she'll be able to have the converted double bed of her dreams.
With the new mattress we also needed bedding, I chose the Tuck Bedding Lilc Bundle, which includes a duvet cover, pillow covers, and a sheet set. The soft lilac colour complements the flowers in the wallpaper and adds a cozy and inviting feel to the space. I especially love that their bedding is free of harsh and harmful chemicals, they’re pre-washed so she can enjoy the lived-in comfort feel right away!
To tie the room together, I selected the Boutique Rugs Deron Washable Rug in white. This rug is not only stylish but also practical for a child's room, as it can be easily cleaned in case of spills or accidents. Save 10% off your purchase by using the code TIMBERWOOD at checkout.
Finally, the stunning lighting fixture from Kichler Lighting adds a touch of glamour to the room. The Birkleigh Ceiling Light in a satin nickel finish gives it a luxurious feel that will make my daughter's room feel extra special.
Creating a mood board was such a helpful tool so we could visualizing how all the different design elements will work together in the space. It allowed us to see how the colours, patterns, and textures complement each other and make adjustments as needed.
Stay tuned for next week's update as I start bringing these design elements to life! If you would like to see other transformations, visit the ORC blog here!
